Each week the students will have 25 spelling words. I will post the spelling list on Monday's homework blog, or whichever the first day of the week is if Monday is an off day. Students will also be given a hard copy of the list which they should tape or glue into their Spelling Journals. The online list is only backup and is not an excuse for a student to lose his or her spelling list. Spelling homework will be the same every week for the first semester.
Monday: Write words five times each in alphabetical order
Tuesday: Use at least 20 of the words in a sentence
Wednesday: Pyramid Words (i.e. j, jo, joy, joyf, joyfu, joyful)
Thursday: Spelling Pretest
Friday will be the spelling test, unless the students are told differently beforehand. Their weekend spelling homework will be to write the words they missed on the test five times each.
