A few mistakes are fine as long as the poem is basically correct. Everyone slips. Try to have him correct himself when he's practicing so it's practiced correctly, but on the day a few switched words aren't a problem. A big thing is that he not make a deal out of it if he makes a mistake and notices. Just move through it like it's right. I might not even notice the mistake then. My son is doing great at studing his poem. But when he recites it from memory he changes a couple words. Does it have to be word for word?
